"Christmas in Appalachia" A Success!

Thanks to everyone who helped to plan this year's "Christmas in Appalachia" as well as all who attended. We had a full house at the Jettie Baker Center yesterday evening, and everyone who participated made the evening a wonderful community celebration. Let's do this again next year!

I'd like to extend a special thanks to a few folks who made "Christmas in Appalachia" possible this year. In no special order, let's thank:
  • Our Sponsors (we couldn't have done this without your help):
Haysi/Clinchco Lions Club, Clintwood Kiwanis Club, and the Clintwood Lions Club
  • Ron Short for organizing the evening and providing the creative guidance for the celebration.
  • Donnie Rife for his help in securing sponsorships for the event.
  • Phyllis Deel for organizing refreshments and decorating the Jettie Baker Center.
  • Geneva O'Quinn and the Staff of the Heart of Appalachia Tourism Authority for printing the programs and for their support.
  • The Ralph Stanley Museum & Traditional Mountain Music Center Board of Directors for their support of this and all of the community events that we host.
  • Pam and Richard Morris for helping to plan and carry out the evening's events (meaning they did a little of everything).
  • The Town of Clintwood, Mayor Donald Baker, and Doris Rife for their help in using the Jettie Baker Center.
  • Lisa Davis, my wife, for the countless hours that she logs as she helps me with every event that the Museum hosts.
  • Everyone who promoted the event by newspaper, radio, word of mouth, message boards, etc. Thanks for "getting the word out."
  • And last but not least, everyone who celebrated with us by attending the event last night!
  • (If I've forgotten anyone, I truly apologize. It takes a "cast of thousands" to make these events run smoothly, so let me know if you should be added to our list.)
If we don't see you before you celebrate the rest of your holiday season, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the Ralph Stanley Museum!
